With the sophisticated IT solutions available today, anyone can create and market their own book easier than ever. Distributing the book electronically, the authors essentially are able to self-publish their books, bye-passing the traditional publishers. This all is possible because self-publishing barely requires capital. Whilst traditional publishers have costs for printing, stocking and shipping, and often need several weeks for delivery, electronic books (eBooks) have virtually no production and distribution costs, and can be delivered instantly in a highly automated way. The authors can do this via their own web sites, and/or make use of one or many of the eCommerce platforms available with various ways of sales support.

So what’s the problem?

Without proper protection measures, content in an electronical format can be copied and used in new documents in a snap. Even when the content itself is protected from being copied, the document can be copied as a whole and forwarded to others without any revenues for the authors.

What is the solution we offer?

EUReBOOKs offers a solid protection of PDF documents.  Using Locklizard’s sophisticated Safeguard technology, the document can only be opened on a PC where a proper licence key is installed.  You, the self-publishing author, can set a number of parameters like the number of times the document may be viewed or printed, the document expiry date, and many more.  You can post the protected .pdc on your web site or distribute it by e-mail. 
The eBook can only be used with the proper licence key, so no worries that the document is stolen.  Another advantage of this system is that your clients can download the eBook again at any time should their file become corrupted or accidentally deleted.

How does it work?

A few easy steps are required:
1. We sign an agreement and create an account for you
2. You send your book to us in PDF format
3. You specify the security parameters
4. We create the the protected pdf (in format .pdc) and include it in our database
5. We send you the .pdc which you can make downloadable or send via CD-ROM or e-mail to your clients
